My BlogHer NaBloPoMo #FAIL and LATISM '11 on the Brain

I was doing well and posting ever day, but Friday night I collapsed asleep after an amazing full day and special evening out with my beloved LATISM peeps.  Yesterday, Saturday, my sister and I flew back home to New York from Chicago and spent a warm and cozy evening with my family.  The night before, I passed out trying to blog, but last night, I passed out in the middle of tweeting- Oy!

At the LATISM'11 Kmart/Sears
modelling booth.  I'm wearing a few
pieces from the Kardashian line.
 Maybe, I totally can be
 a youtube star? LOL ;)
What is a NaBloPoMo blogger to do?  Blog and post some more!  Get back on the posting horse!  I had an amazing

meeting on Friday, with Jenny Lauck and Yvonne Valtierra of BlogHer in Chicago.  Jenny is Director and Yvonne is Producer of BlogHer Publishing Network, respectively.  They led the workshop called, "Monetize Your Blog with the LATISM/BlogHer Publishing Network" and I took full advantage of being able to sit with them afterwards.  I am so grateful for the insights that they shared.

Now, maybe my blog isn't ready for the hardcore monetization that can be afforded by connecting with the LATISM/BlogHer Publishing Network- YET (traffic isn't that high to my site, but I am proud of my 30-100 hits a day for now), but Jenny broke down a few amazing things I can do to build my way there.  She pointed out that I need to absolutely be doing video posts!  It's nice to hear someone say, "You are beautiful, perfect for the camera, animated, and your energy is amazing!" Thank you, Jenny- you are awesome!  So, get ready to see some video posts... I mean, give me some time to add that to my posting schedule, but they are coming!  I will be talking RELATIONSHIPS of course!

And for the record, I am working on a culminating wrap up post of LATISM'11.  The experience was so special and moving that is really hard to fully capture in words.  This is where I know I am not a professional writer.  Writers have a special gift to share an experience where you can almost feel, touch, taste it ect.  I don't know if I can do that, but I know that's my wish for those who read my next post.  While, I am used to writing academic papers and that is writing, I love blogging because there is a freedom of form and expression that I have here that actually helps me feel more like a writer's writer than the academic stuff.

Ever onward. Blog on Bloggers!
